The application process is your chance to to tell us your story, and why you should be selected to be in the the 2021-2022 Leadership Academy cohort. The application process allows the option of submitting a short video and up to two letters of recommendation. More details about the applications process can be found in the online application.

Cost

The participation cost for the 2021-2022 Leadership Academy is $360. This subsidized fee is only possible through the generous support of our generous sponsors, presenters, and donors. The actual cost of the program is well over $2,500 per person. Similar intensive leadership development programs are often priced at $5,000 and more.

Selection Criteria

The program will be limited to between 20-30 fellows. If you’re considering applying, we strongly encourage you to apply. The selection process will be based on the following criteria:

• Submission of online application
• 21 to 35 years old who live or work in Silicon Valley
• Humble, Hungry and Smart
• Upfront commitment to attend all sessions
• Desire for self-reflection and self-improvement
• Interest in exploring and learning more about Jewish values and wisdom
• Interest in giving back to and making a difference in the Jewish community and making the world a better place
• Optional:  Up to 2 letters of recommendation and short video
• Certify fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by October 1

Scholarships

A scholarship can be applied for as part of the online registration process. Scholarships will be considered and awarded after acceptance to the program.

Course Materials

A list of recommended course materials will be provided to all fellows. We expect the cost of these materials will be less than $75.

Weekend Retreats and Covid-19

Retreats are an integral part of the Academy program. The Academy kicks off with a weekend Shabbaton retreats on October 8-10 (the program kick-off) and February 4-6 in the hills of Silicon Valley. If you are applying for the program, please save these weekend dates and times. Retreats will start with a Friday night Shabbat dinner and go through Sunday lunch. We’re living through a period of often-changing requirements of what it takes to safely meet in person. We expect to hold much of the program in the retreat center’s beautiful outdoor patio space. We’re asking that all fellows are vaccinated and provide proof in advance of attending the program. For those with a health or other reason for not being vaccinated, a negative COVID test taken 72 hours in advance of the retreats will be required for all in-person participation. For vaccinated fellows (which will be most of the cohort) we’ll wear face masks when inside, and face masks will be optional when outdoors. For anyone not vaccinated, face masks will be required at all times – whether inside or outside – and all meals must be eaten outside.
