Urban Adamah is an educational farm and community center in Berkeley, California that integrates the practices of Jewish tradition, mindfulness, sustainable agriculture, and social justice to build loving, just, and sustainable communities. We provide training programs, educational workshops, and community celebrations for more than 10,000 visitors annually.
About The Role
The Events Associate will provide critical support for the smooth execution of events on the farm including retreats, celebrations, classes, workshops, services, and performances, with an emphasis on weekend and evening events. This position may be residential with the opportunity to live on the farm in your own 1 BR apartment.
In addition to direct event support, the Events Associate will provide administrative and logistical support to the Retreats and Celebrations Director and the Community and Ritual Director in planning, coordinating, and marketing events.
Cross-Departmental Event Production with a focus on Rentals & CelebrationsManage the seamless execution of events and retreats
Plan and coordinate logistics for events and retreats
Coordinate onsite activities, staffing needs, event set up and breakdown including furniture, A/V, etc.
Assist with the creation of Eventbrite and WordPress events in support of Program Associate
Collaborate on troubleshooting and addressing program shortcomings, whether of a programmatic, management, or administrative nature
Event AdministrationAdminister and track contracts, payments, and billing
Administer and track rental inquiries and collate data
Ensure program providers/clients are paid or refunded in a timely manner
Communicate with clients, vendor, and event participants
Support Growth and Development of New EventsAssist with market research
Assist with building, maintaining, and utilizing mailing lists
Assist with creation of marketing materials
Site and Event ManagementManage and inventory equipment (e.g. A/V, tablecloths, furniture, etc.)
Manage adherence to space use guidelines following events
Actively collaborate on site upkeep by providing timely feedback to facilities and farm team and doing ongoing minor site upkeep
Manage site safety as the lead when solely on site and during weekend/evening longitudinal programming
Support Staff ManagementManage site hosts—recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and troubleshoot to support all events on site

You are able to think quickly on your feet and have the interpersonal skills to connect with a diverse array of individuals or support the smooth orchestration of large group events with multiple teams. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This is a full-time, benefitted, and non-exempt position that includes healthcare, holidays, and paid time off. The salary range for this position is $60,000–66,000 per year if employee lives off site. There is also an option for this employee to live on site in a private 1 BR apartment at a reduced salary in lieu of rent. If interested, ask hiring manager for more details.

SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position heavily weighted towards weekends and evenings as dictated by the event calendar. Employee will receive their schedule a minimum of two weeks in advance. In consultation with their supervisor, some flexibility exists once event and office needs are met.
SUPERVISION:
This position is supervised by an Urban Adamah Department Director.
