Urban Adamah

Urban Adamah is an educational farm and community center in Berkeley, California that integrates the practices of Jewish tradition, mindfulness, sustainable agriculture, and social justice to build loving, just, and sustainable communities. We provide training Programs, educational workshops, and community celebrations for more than 10,000 visitors annually.
 
About The Role
The Program Associate will support our single-day and longitudinal programs through administrative, logistical, and community care work. The Program Associate will play a key role in preparing the site, fostering a welcoming, safe and inclusive community for our program participants, and maintaining a highly organized and personalized approach to all tasks. The program associate must be available to work evenings and weekends as dictated by the events calendar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Event & Program Registrar

The Program Associate will:Administer Urban Adamah community inquiries and support, including the info@ email address
Monitor and report on event registration and event enrollmentTrack enrollment/ticket sales
Track registration and waitlists
Send weekly report
Flag low enrollment to Marketing Manager and Department Directors
Track and receive logistical needs for community & educational programs
Administer ScholarshipsTrack scholarships from request to evaluation to offer/decline to acceptance/decline
Maintain FAQ about our scholarships and process
Manage communications regarding scholarships

Community Care & Longitudinal Program SupportLead welcoming, grounding, and closing for program participantsCheck people into events and greet them at the door
Lead program introductions: ground in Jewish & farm time, introduce facilitators
Gather and organize informal qualitative feedback at the end of programs
Manage Residential Building logistics for longitudinal program participants and rentalsCoordinate and execute move into and out of Residential Building
Facilitate communal living conversations with participants
Stock and track Residential Building supplies (art/Jewish ritual/first aid, etc.)
Stock and track Residential Building linens, do laundry/fold 
Manage and track Residential Building sundries 
Manage community connection between community members and longitudinal program participantsMaintain resource sheets for affinity connections
Evaluate if longitudinal participants have connected with community or need assistance
Link them with local resources when needed
Serve as community care coordinator for our young adult longitudinal program participantsHelp to foster a welcoming, safe and inclusive community
Build rapport with program participants through regular interactions and check-ins and provide a consistent presence as a resource
Assist the Young Adult Programs Manager in the planning of programming that fosters a sense of community for young adult participants throughout their time on the farm
Offer guidance to program participants on a wide range of issues, including social and communal dynamics, and refer participants to the appropriate people and community resources for additional support when needed
Understand and follow program policies and procedures, and help participants meet community standards
Maintain clear and professional boundaries with participants
Track and improve on community and program participant feedback, questions, and needs through correspondence during programs and events, answering questions as needed

 

Cross-Departmental Event Production with a focus on Community & Educational ProgramsReceive and assess public program proposals based on our established assessment rubric for program management and execution 
Administer execution of workflows with public program partners at Director’s approvalFor collaborative programs that involve external partners, Associate will coordinate and negotiate pricing, revenue sharing, and contracting
Manage site safety as the lead when solely on site and during weekend/evening longitudinal programming
Use platforms such as Salesforce, Eventbrite, and WordPress to create and manage digital ticketing systems for events, with support from the Events Associate
Administer and assist with logistics coordination for onsite activities, staffing needs, including creating a logistics plan for events and educational programs in support of the Events Associate
Administer post event (/program) surveys and collating data returned
Administer internal evaluation of program successes and shortcomings to ensure ongoing program development and enhancement

Additional Details
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This is a full-time, benefited, and non-exempt position that includes healthcare, holidays, and paid time off. The salary range for this position is $60,000-$66,000. Comprehensive benefits include:
100% health care coverage for self and 50% coverage of dependents in a Silver Tier Kaiser plan or its equivalent in our carrier’s options
80% coverage of dental insurance for self
Paid vacation days beginning at 15 days; 20 days in second year; incremental increase to 25 days 
5 paid sick days per year
Up to 20 paid holidays (a mix of both national and Jewish holidays)
Tax-free retirement account after 2 years 
A pre-tax FSA for medical, dependent care, and transit
Paid and unpaid parental, medical, and bereavement leave (following 1 year of employment)

SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position heavily weighted towards evenings as dictated by the Events Calendar. Employee will receive their schedule a minimum of two weeks in advance.  In consultation with their supervisor, some flexibility exists once event and office needs are met.

SUPERVISION:
This position is supervised by an Urban Adamah Department Director.
