Leadership Circles

J Leaders Leadership Circles are small groups of 5- 15 Jewish young professionals interested in building connections with other talented, motivated, like-minded young adults. Leadership Circles provide the opportunity for exploration and growth of your own leadership skills, and a path forward to make your difference in the world.

Who’s in a Leadership Circle? Leadership Circle can include a group of your friends – thru your college experience, Jewish youth group, neighborhood, work, synagogue, or Jewish summer camp – or a group you’ve never met before.

What happens in a Leadership Circle? We’ll provide you with a playbook of interesting ideas for meetings. Activities might include discussing a book or movie, sharing personal or professional visions or goals, team-building activities, bringing in a guest speaker, or a shared Shabbat dinner. Leadership Circles are self-directed by the members of the group. What the group does is ultimately up to the group.

Who leads the Circle?  It takes just one person to get the ball rolling – the Circle Champion. The Champion takes the lead in putting together the first session by recruiting at least 5 participants, finding a convenient location, and then facilitating the first meeting (we’ll provide you an agenda and tips).

How often do Leadership Circles meet? Leadership Circles typically meet on a monthly basis, but can meet more or less frequently as your group prefers. Because Leadership Circles are designed to build relationships, we expect that most Leadership Circles will choose to continue for a year or more.

How much does it cost to start or join a Leadership Circle? There’s no cost. It’s what J leaders does. We’re all about empowering and engaging the Jewish young adult community through leadership development opportunities and community building.

How do I get involved? It all starts by completing this quick survey, and we’ll get back to you with everything you need to know.
